Moody Blues at Albert Hall / Meet and Greet at TPAC

Viewers tuning in on Sunday, December 13 at 8:30 p.m. CT for our just-announced, special membership drive broadcast of THE MOODY BLUES AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL have the opportunity to receive meet and greet passes for the Moody Blues March 18, 2010 show at TPAC. The ticket and meet & greet package is exclusive to NPT viewers who pledge their support during the broadcast, so be sure to tune in to take advantage of this special opportunity.

In THE MOODY BLUES AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, taped live in 2000, the Moody Blues partnered with Musical Director Larry Baird, conductor of the World Festival Orchestra, to perform many of its classic hits, such as “Nights in White Satin,” “The Story in Your Eyes” — for the record, this NPT Media Update blog writer’s favorite Moody Blues song — and “Tuesday Afternoon,” along with a few songs from its first new album since 1991, Strange Times.

One of my least favorite and counter-intuitive efforts broadcast is SUN STUDIO RECORDINGS program of current musicians. I am sure it does promote the individuals featured, but it come across as “shameless self promotion” where their egos out perform their musicianship.

Wondering when the Lyrics & Legends episode with Justin Hayward will be aired. Still haven’t seen it on the schedule, but supposedly, PBS said it would begin airing this month. What’s the holdup???? This episode was shot right here in Nashville!!!! Get is scheduled, will ya?

Hi Scarlet,

Thanks for the note. I’m not sure where you received your PBS information, but as far as I know, for whatever reason, the second season of Legends & Lyrics, which includes the Justin Haywood performance, has not been made available to public television stations. I’d been interested in where you received this information regarding PBS.

Thanks,

Joe

We were without television for a few months. We recently acquired a converter box and were anxiously awaiting Zoboomafoo in the morning. I no longer see it in your programming schedule. Has it been discontinued?

Sincerely,
the Cochran family
