The new season of Call the Midwife is here! Season 12 comes to NPT Sunday, March 19, at 7 p.m. and continues weekly through Sunday, May 7. While Passport members have had access to the shows since mid-February, the return of on-air broadcasts means the return of weekly recaps written Vanderbilt School of Nursing midwives Hannah Diaz and Kate Virostko. Look for their blog posts Mondays at 8 a.m.
It’s spring 1968 when Season 12 opens. New nun Sister Veronica arrives at Nonnatus House and is immediately popular with everyone — well, almost everyone. Less popular is the social discord stirred up by an anti-immigrant, anti-integration speech by Conservative politician Enoch Powell, particularly with Lucille and Cyril. Meanwhile, Trixie is back with more fabulous outfits and she and Matthew are now engaged.
