Faith Hill Christmas Album Fulfills a Dream

Faith Hill had long dreamed of recording a Christmas album, she told Beverly Keel of the Tennessean. And she wanted to get it just right, taking almost three years to complete Joy to the World.

“”I was so proud that I didn’t just record (it) in haste and then put it out because everyone wanted a Christmas album,” she says. “I didn’t ever want to do it that way, and I’m so glad that we all stuck to our long-term goals of making a Christmas album. When you are in the midst of working and you get pulled in different directions, you do things randomly and I didn’t want it to be that. . .”

To promote the album, Hill taped a special Soundstage performance in Chicago, a performance Keel writes, “has the feel of a 1950s Rat Pack dinner club.”

The Soundstage special, which airs on NPT-Channel 8 (and NPTHD if you have it) on Monday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. as part of our December pledge drive, features Hill joined by an orchestra and choir conducted by David Campbell.

am watching the faith hill special at present. why cannot the television experts get the sound of the performers and their mouth together? the performance is great. however, to look at someone singing and their lips are not in synch does make things somewhat confusing. Any suggestions??
