Our good friend Keith McDaniel, director of the 2007 NPT Human Spirit Award winning film THE CLINTON 12 at the Nashville Film Festival, is gearing up for his own Secret City Film Festival to be held Oct. 9-12, 2008, at the Oak Ridge Playhouse in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
60 independent films from the around the world will be featured at the Festival along with educational workshops and panels, parties and an awards ceremony honoring the best films of the festival.
McDaniel, who also directed the two-part documentary SECRET CITY: The Oak Ridge Story, started the Festival in 2003 as a showcase for the local film production community in East Tennessee. While continuing to feature local filmmakers, “we are now screening films from around the country and throughout the world” says McDaniel.
East Tennessee is beautiful this time of year. Perhaps a weekend road trip is in order. Get the complete list of films at secretcityfilmfestival.com.

Shame on you for not showing the film, “Under Our Skin.”
Oak Ridge is raging with a silent epidemic. You missed a wonderful opportunity to educate the community by viewing an excellent movie.
