GET READY TO CLOWN AROUND

The Big Comfy Couch, presented by Nashville Public Television and broadcast on PBS stations nationwide, is the safe, cozy place for preschoolers to learn about the world around them. This Emmy-award-winning series has a child’s point of view and provides a playful environment for fun and discovery. Plus, its theme song is pretty catchy (go to the web site and click on sing-a-longs … I guarantee it’ll be stuck in your head). Some local rock band should cover it, quick.

In the Nashville City Paper, Amy Griffith discussed the show, and its new focus on healthy living, with Amity Entertainment president Steve Elsky and NPT’s assistant program manager Justin Harvey. It seems the show wants kids to, well, get off the couch. It’s called “Ready Set Grow” and there are great resources to get you started at the Big Comfy Couch web site.
