It’s spring 1969 and four new midwife trainees arrive at Nonnatus House at the start of the new season. Dr. Turner’s first case under a new arrangement with St. Cuthbert’s hospital might prove to be a difficult one – and it is one with which Sister Julienne might have a historical connection.

Una Sammon, CNM, has been a practicing certified nurse-midwife since 2019. She thoroughly enjoys partnering with women to achieve their health goals and takes particular joy in educating both patients and students. She attends births at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and lives in Nashville, Tenn., with her husband and perfect baby boy.
Kathleen Danhausen, CNM, has worked in the world of reproductive health and violence prevention for more than 20 years, 10 of those as a midwife. She attends births at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt Birth Center. She is also on the faculty of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Nurse-Midwifery program. She loves working with and training midwives, and she loves that birth is never boring. Kathleen has two children, both born out of the hospital and into the hands of midwives.
