NPT will experience outages Oct. 22 & Oct. 30

UPDATE: Part 2 of the installation process is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. NPT, NPT2 and NPT3 PBS Kids and our local streaming feeds will be off the air and down. Programming will be available on demand via video.wnpt.org and the PBS App.

NPT will be off the air Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 from noon to 6 p.m. to prepare for the installation of a new piece of equipment, an Uninterruptable Power Supply. Our actual downtime may be longer or shorter during this process. A second outage will occur at a later date as the equipment is installed.

Please note: When these outages occur, NPT, NPT2 and NPT3 PBS Kids will be off the air and our local streaming feeds will be down. However, viewers will still be able to enjoy programming on demand via video.wnpt.org and the PBS App.

I am unable to view any of NPT programing despite multiple scans. I am located in Clarksville TN and have been able to receive your signal in the past. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

We’re sorry you’re having trouble receiving our signal. Please try the steps listed in the “Watch with an antenna section” on our website: https://www.wnpt.org/tune-in/ (scroll till you see it). You might also find this site helpful: https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps.

If none of this helps, please call us at (615) 259-9325 during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and someone will attempt to help.

I can confirm that WNPT transmission is very weak in the Clarksville area. Even with a huge UHF/VHF outdoor antenna and the fact I live 35 miles from Nashville in southeastern Clarksville tight off I-24, I have been unable to tune in WNPT for the last two years. I think it might be geographical in nature, as we have some sizeable hills as you hit the Highland Rim area. I don’t think WNPT tests signal strength up here at all. It’s been an issue ever since the DTV change.

Unfortunately according to the FCC coverage map, yes, our signal is going to be weak in your area. A number of stations were in the moderate range for reception, but only was in the good range. As an alternative, you might consider livestreaming NPT at https://video.wnpt.org/livestream/.

I have been without without npt since the change in October I have done multiple scans I have been able to receive Channel 8 in the past without problems most of the time only sometimes when weather related problems occur maybe your antenna was affected I certainly Miss viewing the programs on Channel 8
