‘British Antiques Roadshow’ Airs; Antiques & Garden Show Ticket Contest

Now there are even more opportunities for NPT viewers to enjoy Antiques Roadshow! We’ve added half-hour episodes of the British version of the show – snippets of which are an occasional bonus on the American version – Sundays at 6:30 p.m.

Fiona Bruce, host of the British edition of Antiques Roadshow.

Antiques Roadshow originated in the UK and like its American counterpart, the British version is filmed on location around the country, with stops at museums, cathedrals and historic homes and castles. The accents may be different, but the premise is the same: People hope to learn from expert appraisers whether they have trash or treasure on their hands. The items in question typically have a British provenance (one episode included a slice of Queen Elizabeth’s wedding cake from 1947!), but items from this side of the pond also appear, including a mask-wearing man with collection of Lone Ranger memorabilia.
