Halloween Treats for Kids and Adults on NPT!


What’s your favorite part of Halloween? Costumes, candy? Ours is offering a wicked good mix of fun-sized programs for children and a couple of treats for adults. Goodies for kids

Arthur and the Haunted Tree House premieres Monday, Oct. 23, at 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on NPT; 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on NPT3 PBSKids. Arthur and his friends are in for their spookiest Halloween ever! Binky finds Mr. Ratburn’s haunted house even scarier than math class. Muffy and Bailey decide to cut through a dark, rainy cemetery (what were they thinking?). Meanwhile, Arthur, Buster and Ladonna’s tree house sleepover seems to be haunted.The episode will also air Friday – Sunday, Oct. 27 – 31, at 7:30 p.m. during PBS Kids Family Fun Night on NPT3 PBSKids.

Halloween-themed ODD SQUAD episodes air Friday, Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. on NPT; 6:30 p.m. on NPT3. In “Haunt Squad,” Odd Squad is haunted by a ghost. Then, Owen and new recruit Ozlyn wait out a storm while transporting a dangerous creature in “Safe House in the Woods.”

Splash and Bubbles dives into Halloween Friday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. on NPT; and 5:30 p.m. on NPT3. In “Yuck or Treat,” Splash and his friends visit the spookiest place they know, the cave of the old hagfish, who lives deep in the abyss. Then, in “The Thing From Above the Reef,” Dunk gets spooked by a creature in his home and thinks it’s a monster, but it turns out to be a Baby Sea Urchin hiding from a giant “Thing” that circles in the waters above the reef

Cyberchase’s Season 11 premiere, “Watts of Halloween Trouble,” airs on NPT3 PBSKids on Monday, Oct. 23, at 6 a.m. and will be part of PBS Kids Family Fun Night, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28 – 29, at 7:30 p.m. It’s Halloween Haunt-O-Rama on R-Fair City, and Hacker has a trick up his sleeve: to keep the kids out of Cyberspace forever by crashing Motherboard’s portal system. Can they find big and small ways to save enough energy? And will they get back to Earth?

Ghouls for grownups

American MastersEdgar Allan Poe: Buried Alive airs Monday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. This profile includes interviews with Poe biographers and other authors and stars Denis O’Hare (This Is Us, American Horror Story) as Poe in a series of reenactments. Kathleen Turner narrates. Edgar Allan Poe will be available for streaming on Halloween.

Things That Go Bump in the Night will go bump in the night on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 11 p.m. The hour-long program explores some of New England’s most bone-chilling stories, myths and legends with visits numerous sites, including the Lizzie Borden home in Fall River, Mass.
