Michael Wood — the “gold standard” for cultural travelog television creators according to Mike Hale in The New York Times— brings us THE STORY OF INDIA, a new six-hour journey through the history of the Indian subcontinent that begins tonight, Monday, January 5 at 8:00 p.m. central on NPT and continues for the next two Mondays.
“If you like the idea of watching a really good National Geographic article brought to life, with the lush photography, fascinating facts, sense of discovery and slight superficiality that implies,” writes Hale, “you’ll love “The Story of India.”
The first hour retraces lost ancient cities in Pakistan, the scene of India’s first civilization, before the second hour moves into the revolutionary years after 500 BC — the age of the Buddha.
