Tennessee Crossroads Welcomes Ken Wilshire

It’s about time we got some new blood around here! This week, Tennessee Crossroads is pleased to welcome Ken Wilshire to its stable of segment hosts crisscrossing the state in search of the people and places that make Tennessee unique. Ken’s debut is this Thursday, October 9, with a visit to blacksmith Joe Brown of Readyville, just outside of Watertown.

Ken got his “communication bug” while serving in the Navy on the nuclear submarine USS Haddo. He attended Montreat College in North Carolina and finished his degree in journalism at, what was then, Memphis State University. His television career began in Memphis at WREG-TV where he was a news reporter and weekend anchor. He also wrote, produced and edited stories and documentaries. After leaving WREG-TV, Ken joined FedEx in its communications department as a writer/producer and shortly thereafter headed up the department for several years. Ken has spent almost 25 years in operations management at FedEx and other Fortune 500 companies where he feels his successes were directly related to his strong communication skills. He enjoys helping tell the stories of people who have found their passion in life, love what they do and the contributions they make to their community.

In the weeks ahead, Ken will visit Dunbar Cave in Clarksville, the Silver Caboose in Collierville (outside of Memphis), Silkie’s in Clarksville, several restaurants in Springfield, a rocking chair maker in Watertown and model train hobbyists in Clarksville.
