KING CORN is a new documentary by college buddies Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis that explores the crop’s ubiquity and potential health hazard. They discover that it’s in a majority of the fast food we eat in America, including doughnuts, hamburgers, soda and more.

Cheney and Ellis joined Diane Sawyer on “Good Morning America” this morning to talk about the corn industry and the farming experiment that inspired the film. The “Good Morning America” site, in addition to a video of the interview with the filmmakers, includes responses from the National Corn Growers Association.

KING CORN comes to NPT and PBS stations nationwide via Independent Lens on April 15 at 9:00 p.m. CT.

We really don’t need any more thoughts on politics, wars, global warming or self improvement of brain function shows. Life is a struggle for most of us and why not relax and get a pleasant reminder of the simple life with a bit of humor.
