MOYERS ON MEDIA CONSOLIDATION & LOW POWER RADIO

It doesn’t feel like so long ago that representatives from the FCC were in Nashville to conduct hearings on media ownership regulations.

Tonight on Bill Moyers Journal (NPT-Channel 8, 8:00 p.m.), Moyers gets the latest on the issues from FCC Commissioner Michael Copps — what it means for democracy and what the potential implications are for a free and unfettered Internet. He also talks to journalist Rick Karr and media activist Hannah Sassaman about the future of the nation’s low power radio stations, which in many cases are the last media outlets covering important local events like school board meetings, town meetings and civic groups.
