Laurel Creech, Team Green Leader, Lightning 100 DJ and member of the Cumberland River Compact board, was a great help when we approached her about getting the word out about our new production BEAUTIFUL TENNESSEE: OUR SCENIC WATERWAYS. We asked her to invite Team Green members to our advance screening at Belcourt Theatre last week, and offered the Compact an opportunity to share its mission of protecting Tennessee’s waterways with those attendance. Unfortunately, Creech was busy the night of our screening and coundn’t attend, but she did catch the program’s premiere this past Sunday night and was kind enough to drop me a line.
“The film is fantastic,” she wrote me in a e-mail. “As a board member of the Compact and an active outdoor enthusiast around TN, I enjoyed it tremendously.”
She further included me on a note to friends, fellow board members and outdoor enthusiasts in which she wrote, “I highly recommend that you check it out- there are fantastic views of our favorite waterways, ones we may have visited and others that we have only read about. Courtney Masters offers superb fly fishing techniques and Shirley Caldwell-Patterson gives a fantastic interview that makes you smile and wish you were on the water then and there.”
It’s about the best endorsement for this film yet. The film will be broadcast again on Thursday, August 9 at 7 p.m. on NPT-Channel 8. I hope you have a chance to tune in.
