On Thursday, June 21, NPT and the League of Women Voters of Nashville will present the Nashville Mayoral Forum, to be broadcast at 8 p.m. on Nashville Public Television, NPT-Channel 8. If you have a question for the candidates for Mayor of Nashville, there’s still time to go to wnpt.net and fill out the form to submit it to NPT and the League of Women Voters of Nashville. Representatives from NPT and the League will review questions submitted and choose which to pose to the candidates.

I would like to know if any of the mayoral candidates would support fingerprinting of juvenile offenders. 10 years ago, a 12 year old boy broke into my house and stole several things, including a gun. His prints were everywhere, but because you cannot fingerprint juveniles, the police said they could not do anything. A neighbor witnessed the boy entering and leaving my house, and the police recognized him right away from the description she gave; they knew exactly where he lived, and yet, I never got any of my things returned nor was this boy ever punished in any way. Even though he had been caught stealing before, there could be no proof without fingerprints.
If I am mistaken and this has already been resolved, I apologize.
