MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCES

Monday is Memorial Day, and The Tennessean has begun a great four part series called REMEMBERING SACRIFICE.

Today’s story by Leon Alligood focuses on Hartsville, TN’s Jack Key, and his memories of his brother, 2nd Lt. Lewis A. Key, who was killed on Dec. 5, 1943 in Italy during World War II. Lewis had written and sent a letter home just shortly before his death.

“Although we are cold and on the front line, I wanted to start the month off sending my love to you by mail.”
