NOW ON MILITARY BLOGGING AND FUEL EFFICIENT CARS / INDEPENDENT LENS ON ENRON

A couple of PBS NOW items:

Nashville’s Left Turn with Cecily Friday blogs on a NOW episode about the ban on the military blogging.

This Friday night’s episode (May 18 at 9:30 p.m. CDT) asks the question “What’s stopping auto companies from making a 100 mile-per-gallon car?” Former GM engineer and NOW correspondent Jonathan Silvers goes under the hood of the U.S. car industry to look at what’s being called a colossal failure of American engineering. Does Detroit have a secret weapon waiting in the wings?

The show also profiles an organization that hopes to move kids out of poverty with — of all things — bicycles. Part of NOW’s “Ideas That Work” series.

INDEPENDENT LENS
