Due to the death of former President Gerald Ford, NPT-Channel 8 is making the following program changes:
Wednesday night, 12/27, TIME AND CHANCE: GERALD FORD’S APPOINTMENT WITH HISTORY will air at 11 PM, replacing INDEPENDENT LENS #807 “A Sad Flower in the Sand.” Independent Lens will be rescheduled at a future date.
Thursday night, 12/28, PRESIDENTIAL CONVERSATIONS ON THE CONSTITUTION #101 “Gerald Ford” will air at 11 PM, replacing ALIVE FROM POP TECH, which will be rescheduled at a future date.
PRESIDENTIAL CONVERSATIONS ON THE CONSTITUTION speaks to the legacy of the executive office by examining the pivotal, and very personal, relationship between the president and the Constitution. In unprecedented interviews conducted by award-winning journalist Cokie Roberts, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and George H.W. Bush reflect on this unique and powerful position. The series addresses how the 216-year-old document has withstood the test of time, despite having been re-interpretated by leaders bound by its requirements.
