Local singer/songwriter/financial guru Merle Hazard (aka Jon Shayne) was featured again this week on the PBS NewsHours’ Making Sense of Financial News series. In this clip reporter Paul Solman uses Hazard’s latest hit Dual Mandate to explain the Federal Reserve’s role in stimulating economic growth while keeping inflation in check. Somehow it all begins to make much more sense when backed by steel guitar.
