If you’re a fan of “Dancing with the Stars” and love ballroom dancing, Nashville’s Dr. Ming Wang is inviting you to join him and “Dancing” star Julianne Hough for a viewing party of the new PBS program AMERICA’S BALLROOM CHALLENGE, airing on NPT-Channel 8 beginning tonight at 7:00 p.m. and continuing for the next four Wednesday nights.
The viewing parties will take place at the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, 1801 West End Ave, Ste 1150 in Nashville. Admission is free and food and drinks will be served. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Cynthia@wangvisioninstitute.com.
Dr. Ming Wang, MD, PhD, is not only an internationally known LASIK surgeon and bona fide Nashville celebrity, he’s also the current reigning world championship finalist in pro-am international 10-dance. “Ballroom dancing not only is an elegant art,” he says, “but its breath-taking beauty can also invoke in us the appreciation for the preciousness of sight, and our love and compassion to help those who can not see.”
Hough is best known for winning seasons four and five of “Dancing with the Stars” with partners Apolo Ohno and Helio Castroneves, respectively. She recently moved to Nashville and has embarked on a country music career. You can listen to a tune, and be her friend, on her myspace site. She’s scheduled to make tonight’s viewing party, but I’m not certain about subsequent viewings.
