We&#8217;ve compiled resources to help you find information and to talk to your children about what&#8217;s happening. We&#8217;ve also curated a list of related programming \u2013 some on-air, some via streaming \u2013 that offers information, tips and historical perspective. These are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnpt.org\/health-wellness\/\">wnpt.org\/health-wellness<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">COVID-19 updates&#8230;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PBS NewsHour<\/strong> and <strong>Frontline<\/strong> are premiering new specials addressing COVID-19. <strong>NewsHour&#8217;s Confronting Coronavirus<\/strong> airs Thursday, March 19, at 8 p.m., and includes interviews with officials as well as reports from correspondents around the world. Judy Woodruff anchors the show, while Amna Nawaz and William Branham will moderate a virtual town hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frontline&#8217;s Coronavirus Pandemic<\/strong> airs Tuesday, April 21, at 8 p.m. This episode will include two reports: one examining two Washingtons\u2019 response to the virus \u2013 that of the federal government and that of Washington state, considered the epicenter of the U.S. outbreak. The second report focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the poor, especially children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Distance learning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve compiled a collection of ideas for distance learning, with suggestions for both educators developing curricula and parents with children at home. You\u2019ll find these at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnpt.org\/health-wellness\/parents-teachers\/\">wnpt.org\/health-wellness\/parents-teachers<\/a>; they include information drawn from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbslearningmedia.org\/\">PBS Learning Media<\/a>. There are also links to information and videos tailored to adults and children about staying calm during crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Diversions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Resources for talking with children are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnpt.org\/health-wellness\/\">wnpt.org\/health-wellness<\/a>. A collection of videos about good hygiene are available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLa8HWWMcQEGRIZNrcE35Ecp2GHiaBCLIQ\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For ideas on keeping little ones entertained, consider signing up for the <a href=\"http:\/\/public.pbs.org\/PBSKIDSDaily?source=pbskids.org\">PBS Kids daily newsletter<\/a>. Remember, NPT3 PBS Kids offers 24\/7 children&#8217;s programming, available on-air or streaming at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnpt.org\/npt3\/\">wnpt.org\/npt3<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, we know, big kids also get bored. There&#8217;s plenty of NPT original programming available to stream or enjoy online at <a href=\"https:\/\/video.wnpt.org\/\">video.wnpt.org<\/a>, from <strong>Tennessee Crossroads<\/strong> and <strong>Volunteer Gardener<\/strong> to our original documentaries. If you have NPT Passport, you can enjoy <strong>Downton Abbey, Country Music<\/strong> and many episodes of your favorite series. Many programs are available for free without an NPT or Passport membership \u2013 Ken Burns&#8217; <strong>Baseball<\/strong> is one of them.
