NPT Wins 2017 NETA Awards in Three Categories

The NETA Awards took place in January 2018 in Washington, D.C.

NPT received three awards from the National Educational Telecommunications Association on Jan. 22, 2018, during that organization’s annual conference at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Washington, D.C. NETA honored 20 of its members with awards for excellence in community engagement, instructional media, content creation and promotion.

NPT received awards in the following categories:

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (Based on a Local Project)
NPT Reports: Aging Matters

CONTENT CREATION (News & Public Affairs)
NPT Reports: Aging Matters – Elder Abuse & Exploitation

PROMOTION (Single Video)
Music Row Material Solicitation

This year’s NETA Award winners were chosen by panels of judges working in specific disciplines at public television stations, national public media organizations and related professional associations.

The NETA Awards are an annual recognition of public broadcasting’s finest work, a tradition established in the 1960s by the pioneering Southern Educational Communications Association from which NETA was formed. NETA is a professional association organized in 1997 to serve and support public television licensees and affiliated educational organizations. The organization has member stations in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
