He shares insight into his close relationships with his parents, his wife, and his friends as well as a harmony with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Cairns: New and Selected Poems&nbsp;<\/em>represents over thirty years of writing and publishing poems, by author Bill Brown, beginning in the early 1980\u2019s. The title poem uses&nbsp;<em>cairns<\/em>, stacked stones, metaphorically: \u201cI stack words to remember what words alone\/can\u2019t say.&nbsp;<em>The tongue is an eye,&nbsp;<\/em>a poet wrote, \/ not just a choking muscle, fumbling with age. \/ The earth a grave of lost words, stones \/ and children\u2019s bones; a cairn, itself, crude and holey\u2026 .\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bill Brown is the author of ten collections of poetry and a writing textbook.
