Jaume Plensa: Human Landscape<\/a>
\n<\/em>May 22-Nov 1, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jaume Plensa: Human Landscape<\/em>\u00a0is the artist’s largest exhibition to date in the United States. His best-known U.S. works include\u00a0Crown Fountain<\/em>\u00a0in Chicago\u2019s Millennium Park, and\u00a0Echo<\/em>, formerly on view in Madison Square Park in New York, now permanently sited at Olympic Sculpture Park at the Seattle Museum of Art.<\/p>\n

Jaume Plensa creates sculptures and installations that unify individuals through connections of spirituality, the body, and collective memory. Literature, psychology, biology, language, and history have remained key guiding elements throughout Plensa\u2019s career. Using a wide range of materials\u2014including steel, cast iron, resin, paraffi n wax, glass, light, water, and sound\u2014Plensa lends physical weight and volume to components of the human condition and the ephemeral.<\/p>\n

On select days of the week, Cheekwood will be open in the evening and each sculpture will be lit for a completely different experience.<\/p>\n

HOURS:
\nTuesday – Sunday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
\nThursdays in June and July until 10:00 pm
\nFirst Fridays, July – October until 9:00 pm<\/p>\n
