Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars airs Thursday, Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving evening), at 7 p.m. Anne turns 13, with all the angst that comes with that, in this new special that reunites Ella Ballentine as Anne Shirley, Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, and Sara Botsford as Marilla Cuthbert. Thanksgiving is considered the official launch of the holiday season; appropriately, Great Performances presents Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn on Friday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m. Based on the 1942 movie, this production by The Roundabout Theatre Company includes “White Christmas” and other familiar standards.

Twist and shout!

Premiering on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m., The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years is Ron Howard’s journey into the Fab Four’s life on the road. Screaming teenagers, wild car escapades, hysterical crowds – it’ll be like Black Friday at the mall, but with interviews, performance clips and way better music. The Beatles left the road to concentrate on game-changing projects such as the 1967 concept album highlighted in  Sgt. Pepper’s Musical Revolution airs Saturday, Nov. 25, at 9:30 p.m.
