Kimberly Williams-Paisley Talks About NPT Reports: Children`s Health Crisis

Kimberly Williams-PaisleyActress Kimberly Williams-Paisley is best known as the radiant young bride in the comedy feature film series Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II, and more recently as the co-star of the hit ABC TV sitcom According to Jim and star of the Lifetime Movie Network film Amish Grace. Around here at NPT, we know her as our good friend and host of the important Emmy Award-winning documentary series, NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisis project. She has not only hosted the show, providing opening and closing statements for each episode since we started it in February of 2010, she’s been a great advocate and supporter of the project off-air as well. She joined us at a symposium on “Infant Mortality” at Vanderbilt University prior to our episode on the topic, and more recently helped us kick off the “Prevention” installment with a fun Cat-in-the-Hat Health Night at Fall Hamilton School.

At a recent taping for our latest episode on Mental Health, which premieres Wednesday, June 29 at 9:00 p.m., we took a few minutes to ask the mother of two about her role in the project, and why children’s health in Tennessee is so important to her.

It was very informative and helpful to me as I am a teacher at an all girl juvenile correctional facility and have noticed that almost all of them have mental related issues that have impacted their behavior which has would them up in the judicial system that just puts a poor band-aid on their real issues.
