With a Little Help from Tennessee Crossroads, Bridgestone Honors a WWII Veteran

Bridgestone North American Tire Operations annually marks Veterans Day with a special meal and event to honor both veterans in its workforce and in the community.  One of its special guests this year at its Warren County Plant will be the inspiring World War II veteran and POW Fayne Haynes, who along with his company Fayne Haynes Flag & Flag Pole, was profiled on Tennessee Crossroads. Murfreesboro resident Haynes will be honored on November 11, and Bridgestone will be screening our segment on Haynes as part of the program.

Haynes is a remarkable individual. He arrived in a tank on D-Day, and fought and survived at the Battle of the Bulge, only to be captured later. In honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11, we thought you’d appreciate another look at his career. In addition to his service to our country and patriotism, we also have Haynes to thank — as you’ll see in the segment — for the fact that we can walk into a grocery store, and grab a candy bar off the shelf.

Please consider leaving a note of thanks to Mr. Haynes for his service (or the candy bars … he’ll appreciate that too!) here in the comments or on our YouTube page, and we’ll pass on the message.

At its La Vergne plant on November 10, Bridgestone will also welcome four star General and author Carl Stiner, who will speak on the subject of “Leadership and Discipline.”  General Stiner is the co-author of a bestselling book Shadow Warriors with Tom Clancy.
