DINERS SALUTE TELEVISION WORTH WATCHING

Fans of Nashville Public Television gathered last night at the Mad Platter restaurant in Germantown to support “Television Worth Watching” while enjoying a unique evening of fine food and wine pairings.

Vickie Turner of Victoria Pierce Turner Ventures and Nikki Hannewald from Athens Distributing guided diners through five different wines from the Warwick Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa, each paired with a course prepared by Mad Platter Executive chef Stevan Stuart. Highlights included potato leek bisque paired with a 2005 Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc and Stuart’s almond seared tuna in a mango coconut sauce, topped with strawberry relish over Shitake risotto and sautéed spinach complemented by a 2005 Warwick Pinotage. It was indeed as good as it sounds.

Diners were welcomed by Mad Platter Manager Todd Feinberg, NPT president and CEO Beth Curley, NPT’s Vice President of Development Daniel Tidwell and NPT Development Associate and host Miguel Otero.

Thanks to all who joined us and helped us make it happen. We’ll get up some pictures early next week, so check back.
